2/18

Syracuse ML (+130) @ Georgetown: 0.87/1.129 (Matchbook)
My future national champion getting points in any situation is nearly an automatic play on the ML. I have in my rules not to play a game where two teams are coming off bad losses, but I think Syracuse has a lot more to prove in this one. The Orange are a way better team, and it will take a heroic effort from Austin Freeman to keep this game close. I'm not a believer in this GTown team, especially considering how Greg Monroe won't be able to hurt the 'Cuse with his versatility because he won't be pulling a Syracuse big away from the basket due to their 2-3 zone. I just think a team that prides itself on back-cuts is in the worst possible spot when playing a team that relies on the zone. It's even worse when the zone has such strength and length like Syracuse does. I like the 'Cuse to respond with a great effort to Sunday's loss at home against Louisville.

Marquette -5.5 (-115) vs. Pittsburgh: 1.15/1 (Dimeline)
The Golden Eagles are fighting for the post-season and they have a very nice homecourt advantage in Milwaukee. Pitt has only played 1 Big East game in the last 11 days, and I think they will struggle emotionally to get up for this game being that it's not their biggest rival like WVU was and they have Villanova on deck at home. They are in the tourney and the Eagles are like a wounded animal fighting for the spot. I don't think Pitt has the interior players that are important to beat MU, as Gary McGhee is not a scoring threat as long as Buzz Williams keeps his guys focused on rebounding. I also think Lazar Hayward is a TERRIBLE match-up for the Panthers and he may have a career night tonight.

good luck
