4/2:
Houston +1.5 (-105) @ Philadelphia
Houston-Philadelphia UNDER 7 (-115)
-The Astros aren't a good team, but they play the Phillies well at CBP and they fight. Yesterday's collapse won't deflate them, as it's too early in the year for that, but I think it will bring their focus to its maximum potential for today's game. They are built better to handle LHP and the Phillies haven't been very good against LHP for a few years. Now their lineup is much weaker without Jayson Werth, which I'm not sure we all expected, and both pitchers have had great success with perennial strike-caller Bob Davidson behind the plate.
Opening Day:
Washington ML (+125) vs. Atlanta
-I don't think the Braves are as good this year, while Livan Hernandez was great to start and he's a guy that doesn't give in to hitters. The Nats are a buy team for me this year as I think they're going to improve a lot from what we originally saw with the off-season additions in Jayson Werth and Rick Ankiel. I think that improves their defense and some extra seasoning for SS Ian Desmond has to help. Most of this play is with the opinion that being the home team matters and the price is too high on the favorite, but I'm not a huge Derek Lowe fan and he has struggled in the past with Tim Welke behind the dish while Livan has tossed 3 quality starts with him. quiet the Giants bats who have been better in the 2nd half of the season.
